Perk & Flaw System: Full Revamp
· Fix
Every perk and flaw in the game just went under a microscope, and a lot of them needed real work. Iron Skin and Enchanted Ward now actually add their armor bonus in combat, not just on your character sheet. Merchant's Eye and Notorious now actually change the gold you get from selling. Magic Sensitive now actually adds bonus magic damage taken, everywhere magic damage exists. None of these were doing their job before, they were only numbers you could see on your sheet but never actually feel in a fight. Flaws also got a structural fix: they used to apply once, at character creation, and then vanish for good. Now they're a permanent part of your character for as long as you keep them, so Reckless, Magic Sensitive, and Notorious all carry real, ongoing downsides the way they were always meant to. Unbreakable, Wolf Companion, and Brutal Critical used to only work in quests, travel encounters, and the Gauntlet. They now also work in the Arena and Tournament, which run their own separate combat behind the scenes and had been skipped entirely until now. Reckless's flee penalty, which never actually applied to anything, now does too. This was all in preparation for enabling Respec Tokens: before anyone spends one to rebuild their character, every perk and flaw needed to be something you could actually trust. They are now.
